Winner of the 2013, 2015 and the 2016 Club World Championship editions, SadaCruzeiro is aiming at the champion’s trophy for the fourth time in Poland. The team also won the silver medal in 2012, in Doha, Qatar, and was third place last year, also in Poland. For 2017/18 SadaCruzeiro has a renewed cast and the main challenge is to remain on top of the podium in the important tournaments the club will face.
One of the highlights of this season is the North American Taylor Sander, captain of the National Team and bronze in the last World Championship. Kevin Leroux, a 2.09 meter giant, also arrives this season. The French player was a silver medalist in the Nations League in 2018, when he was elected the best middle blocker.
Great players of the Brazilian National Team, central Isac and the opposite Evandro also shine in SadaCruzeiro. Olympic champion Evandro will defend the team for the third consecutive year. Isac, silver medal in the last World Championship with Brazil, has been in the blue team since 2013/14 and will now be playing for SadaCruzeiro for six seasons in a row.
Outside hitter Filipe and libero Serginho are pillars of a group which has conquered everything, accumulating all possible volleyball titles for SadaCruzeiro. Both of them have been defending the club for nine years in a row.
Furthermore, a solid and responsible project is recognized for its investment in base categories. Outside hitter Rodriguinho and setter Fernando Cachopa have been playing for SadaCruzeiro for 5 seasons. Both have been revealed at the club, as well as Éder Levi, Robert, Leozinho and Lucas Bauer.
